Good health and reasonable fitness are required for these treks which can be 10 -15kms in distance. You will be expected to carry up to 10kgs of kit in your back. The paths used are generally good, with steeper gradients and rocky terrain at times, you may be required to walk off the path in places. Canvas or leather hiking boots are a must.
These treks are great if you are fit and want to challenge yourself a bit more, being anything from 12km – 20km in distance. Previous hiking experience is recommended, but not essential if you are confident in your physical condition and are above average fitness. You will be expected to carry up to 10kgs of kit on your back. Some difficult terrain i.e. scree slopes, broken or no paths may be experienced which you could encounter for longer periods. Assents and descents are generally more demanding Being longer and tougher these hikes are also usually done at a brisker pace. Hiking boots with good ankle support are a must.
Very good fitness and stamina levels will be required to comfortably tackle longer and harder trips being 20km+ in distance. You will be expected to carry up to 10kgs+ of kit on your back. The treks will often include mixed, uneven terrain with exposed ridges and scrambling with likely sustained ascents and descents (often steep) should be anticipated. Ideally participants will have previous experience in mountain trekking. Days may be long and hard, but rewarding! Hiking boots with good ankle support are a must.
