The National 3 Peaks Challenge is one of the UK’s most famous endurance events, starting at the bottom of the UK’s highest mountain Ben Nevis in Scotland then taking in Scar Fell Pike in the English Lakes and finishing on Mount Snowdon in Wales this event takes place over a 24 hour period including the transit time in between each mountain. Includes a mountain leader for the whole challenge, driver and transport between each mountain

What You Need To Bring


For all activities, suitable clothing is required. For treks, this includes suitable footwear (sturdy hiking boots), jeans are not advisable as they are difficult to walk in when wet and several layers appropriate to the weather, time of year and location are advised including a waterproof layer in case of rain. As the participant, it is your responsibility to be suitably dressed and equipped for whatever activity you have chosen to do with us. This will not be checked on the day, so this is your responsibility as an attendee however for trips into mountainous areas if you are deemed by the organisers to have inadequate clothing for the conditions then you will not be allowed to participate in the event. No refund or partial refund will be given in these circumstances.

  • 1 x Rucksack (must fit all your kit, 30 litres max)
  • 1 x Rucksack waterproof liner (keeps your kit dry)
  • 1 x Waterproof Jacket (none lined Gortex or similar, no skiing jackets)
  • 1 x Waterproof over trousers (Gortex or similar)
  • 1 x Walking boots (must have ankle support, no trainers)
  • 1 x Walking trousers quick wicking (no JEANS or CORDS)
  • 3 x Walking socks (one for each mountain will give you the edge comfort wise, its the small things in life)
  • 1 x Quick wicking base layer T-shirt (No Cotton)
  • 1 x Mid layer Fleece / Down top.
  • 1 x Gloves
  • 1 x Warm Hat
  • 1 x Sun Hat
  • 1 x Head Torch plus spare batteries
  • 1 x Whistle
  • 1 x Mobile phone
  • 1 x Sunglasses
  • 1 x Suncream & Insect Repellent
